In addition to a wide range of popular Malaysian restaurants and food
stalls, Sibu also offers a good choice of foreign cuisine, as well as
some unusual local favourites. These include "Million", a type of wild
fern, "Kang Muan Mee", a type of noodle and "Kong Pian", a type of

baked biscuit. Fresh seafood and river fish are widely available in
restaurants, and wild boar and deer meat (version) are also easily
obtained. Sibu offers a particilarly good selection of tropical fruits,
including guava, rambutan, papaya, starfruit, watermelon, pineapple, a
large assortment of bananas, olives and the king of the fruits, the
durian.
