In addition to a wide range of popular Malaysian restaurants and food stalls, Sibu also offers a good choice of foreign cuisine, as well as some unusual local favourites. These include "Million", a type of wild fern, "Kang Muan Mee", a type of noodle and "Kong Pian", a type of Kang Muan MeeKong Pian baked biscuit. Fresh seafood and river fish are widely available in restaurants, and wild boar and deer meat (version) are also easily obtained. Sibu offers a particilarly good selection of tropical fruits, including guava, rambutan, papaya, starfruit, watermelon, pineapple, a large assortment of bananas, olives and the king of the fruits, the durian.
